Setting up a semi-aquatic tank
#5 Setting up the tank
Start by rinsing any gravel and decorations you intend to use in the enclosure. Place them in their locations, fill the tank with water to the appropriate level and plug in the filter and any lighting.Let it settle
It is always a good idea to wait at least a couple days before introducing the animals to the tank. This allows the temperatures in the tank to stabilize, the water chemistry to balance itself and for any problems with the layout or mechanics to be discovered.
Introduce the animals
Once the tank has settled, you can introduce the animals. The order and rate at which you introduce them is going to depend on the types of animals you have chosen and the setup of the tank. If you have any questions, feel free to discuss them with the staff at Cayuga Pets n' More.
